Sustainability at Attenuate

Attenuate is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its operations through practical, measurable actions. As a digital production studio, our main areas of impact are equipment use, electricity, data storage and business travel.

Our commitments

• Work remotely whenever being on-site does not provide a meaningful production benefit.
• Prefer rail travel over flying for European journeys that can reasonably be completed by train in under six hours.
• Repair, upgrade, reuse, resell or donate equipment before replacing or recycling it.
• Keep core production hardware in use for at least five years where performance, reliability and security requirements allow.
• Dispose of all electronic waste and batteries through appropriate collection or certified recycling services.
• Use rechargeable batteries for recurring studio and field-recording needs where practical.
• Switch off workstations, monitors and other production equipment when they are not required.
• Manage project archives and remove unnecessary duplicate data in accordance with client agreements and retention requirements.
• Consider environmental impact when choosing suppliers, equipment and production methods.

Our goals

• Track business travel and electricity use under our direct control annually.
• Ensure that 100% of our electronic waste is reused or handled through an appropriate recycling service.
• Record the lifespan of major production hardware and prioritize repair or upgrades over premature replacement.
• Review this policy and our progress at least once per year.

Responsibility for implementing and reviewing these commitments rests with Attenuate’s founders. Our next formal review will take place by July 2027, after which our goals may be updated based on the information collected. Attenuate does not currently claim any third-party environmental certification. This policy represents our own operational commitments and will be updated as the studio grows.
